From Oakland, the rocky Pacific coast is less than an hour away, depending upon traffic. I especially enjoy the many state parks along the San Mateo Coast, all the way to the Big Sur area of Monterey County. I have painted there many times. This painting is a studio composition, based on a lot of visits over the years.
